This Monsoon season, the state of Madhya Pradesh has witnessed flooding Monsoon rains. Despite continuous downpours, East Madhya Pradesh is surplus by only eight percent. On the other hand, West Madhya Pradesh is rain surplus by 38%.

For a matter of fact, some districts of East Madhya Pradesh like Balaghar, Rewa, Katni, and Panna are still rain deficient.

In the past 24 hours as well, moderate to heavy rains have been witnessed over many parts of the state. Like for instance, Khandwa, Sidhi, Dhar and Bhopal recorded 118 mm, 58 mm, 43 mm and 30 mm of rains, respectively.

As per the experts, even today moderate to heavy rains will be a sight. Places like Bhopal, Indore, Khargone, Khandwa, Dhar, Ujjain, Ratlam and Neemuch stands a chance to witness moderate to heavy rains during the next 24 hours.

However, it is expected that by tomorrow rains will cover many parts of the state, wherein the northern districts like Gwalior, Morena, Datia, Shivpuri will get light rains only. These rains are in the wake of a Low-Pressure Area over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas along with a wind-shear zone which is at 22 degrees North Latitude.

Thus, we can say that these intermittent, yet moderate rains will continue over the state for the next few days. With such rains in offing, it looks like that Madhya Pradesh may end on an excessive note during this season.
