Indore: Health department has sought details about government TB hospitals and chest centres in six districts –Indore, Bhopal, Sagar, Chhindwara, Gwalior and Jabalpur – for transforming them into institutes.
The department in the order sought information about working staff members, members ready for deputation to directorate of medical education department and infrastructure.
Interestingly, the order was passed two days after 87 employees of grade I to IV of TB hospital in Indore submitted a memorandum against their merger from health department to medical education department. Even 20 employees, who had earlier given their consent for deputation to department, withdrawn it.
The employees had withdrawn their consent after the director of medical education failed to pay their salaries for two months in a row twice within 11 months of merger. District TB Centre, Indore was merged with directorate of medical education on February 14 this year.
But, the DME failed to pay salaries of the staff members on time once in March and again in August this year for two consecutive months.
So, 20 employees, who had earlier given their consent for deputation withdrawn it, said TB hospital radiographer Shivakant Vajpayee.
The DME gave reason of lack of budget to release salaries of the employees both the time. When they don’t have budget now, then, how can they do it in future, said Vajpayee.
