About MITS ( Madhav Institute of Technology & Science )
Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS), Gwalior holds a rich history that dates back to its establishment in 1957 by His Highness Sir Jiwaji Rao Scindia, Maharaja of the former state of Gwalior. The institute was founded under the open door policy of the Government of India and has since become a prestigious institution in the field of technology and science. The foundation stone of MITS was laid by President Dr. Rajendra Prasad on October 20th, 1956, and the building was inaugurated by President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on December 11th, 1964. In recognition of its accomplishments, the president of India, Dr. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, graced the institute’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations as the Chief Guest on June 30th, 2008. The occasion was further commemorated with the release of a postal stamp dedicated to MITS.
